A subnet is a group of IP addresses that belong together and can be managed as a single block. Instead of dealing with individual IPs one by one, a subnet lets you organize and route multiple addresses at once. For example, if you own a /24 subnet, you have 256 IP addresses that you can assign to servers, services, or clients. Subnets are commonly used in hosting and networking to keep things efficient, secure, and easier to manage. When bringing your own IPs (BYOIP) to a provider like GTHost, you’re essentially using your own subnet and making it work on their network using BGP.
Yes, GTHost fully supports BGP announcements, allowing clients to bring their own IP address ranges, including both IPv4 and IPv6. This feature is available only with monthly dedicated servers, not daily rentals or VPS plans. You can choose to announce your subnet using GTHost’s ASN or your own. To begin, you’ll need a valid ROA (Route Origin Authorization) and a route object for each network subnet you want to announce.
Each announced subnet requires a $50 one-time setup fee and a $20 monthly recurring charge. If you’re announcing through your own ASN, we’ll also need proof that it belongs to you. The same IP address range can be reused across multiple servers in one location, but not across different data centers. This setup gives you control over your own IPs while benefiting from GTHost’s fast, secure infrastructure.
Yes — GTHost supports announcing both IPv4 and IPv6 subnets via BGP. You can request multiple subnets to be announced at once, but setup fees apply per block. For example, announcing three /24 subnets would mean three separate $50 setup charges and $20/month for each. Every IP range must have a valid ROA and route object in place.
To request BGP setup or to get started with your own IPs, open a support ticket at https://cp.gthost.com/en/tickets. Include the subnet(s), the ASN you plan to use, and links to the ROA and route object for each block.
