Announce Your Own IP Prefix with BGP (BYOIP) on GTHost

Does GTHost support BGP announcements and BYOIP (Bring Your Own IP)?

Yes, GTHost fully supports BGP announcements, allowing clients to bring their own IP space (BYOIP), including both IPv4 and IPv6 prefixes. This option is available only on monthly dedicated servers, not on daily rental or VPS plans. You can choose to announce your IPs through GTHost’s ASN or your own ASN. To start, you’ll need a valid ROA (Route Origin Authorization) and a route object for each prefix you want to announce.

What are the costs and requirements to announce a subnet through GTHost?

Each announced subnet requires a $50 one-time setup fee and a $20 monthly recurring charge. If you’re announcing through your own ASN, we’ll also need proof that the ASN belongs to you. While you can reuse the same subnet across multiple servers in the same location, subnets cannot be shared across different data centers. This setup helps businesses maintain control over their IP space while benefiting from GTHost’s fast, reliable network infrastructure.

Can I announce IPv6 subnets or use multiple prefixes at once?

GTHost supports both IPv4 and IPv6 prefix announcements via BGP. You can request multiple prefixes to be announced at the same time, but note that the setup fee applies per subnet. For example, announcing three /24 blocks will result in three separate $50 configuration charges and a $20/month fee for each one. All prefixes must have valid ROAs and route objects before we can announce them.

How do I request a BGP setup at GTHost?

To request BGP setup or get more details, please open a support ticket at https://cp.gthost.com/tickets. In your message, include the subnet(s), the ASN you want to use, and links to the ROA and route object.
